Summary

In Chapter 4, Nicky and Doll went to a house party. While there, Nicky had a conversation with a woman named Marina, who was a few years older than the seventeen year olds at the party and studied English Literature at Trinity College in Dublin. Marina asked Nicky if she planned to go to university in Dublin after finishing school and she said that she did. When asked if she was hoping Doll would follow her there she replied that she wouldn’t want him to do it only for her sake.

As the party continued, both Nicky and Doll became more and more drunk. Eventually, Nicky lost her temper and accused Doll of taking her for granted. She complained that they only ever did things Doll wanted to do and he just assumed that she was happy to drive his mum to her...
