Point of View
“Wife by Wednesday” by Catherine Bybee is written in the third person narrative, limited omniscient. By writing the story of Blake Harrison and Sam Elliot from this point of view, the reader is privy to the thoughts, ideas, intentions and motivations of the these two main characters. Since the story is about an unexpected relationship, the growing feelings and doubts and fears about their budding romance are made clear to the reader while they, of course, remain unknown to the principles themselves.
Sam Elliot first meets Blake Harrison when he contacts her to help him find a wife. As the title suggests, he needs a wife right away in order to secure his inheritance.
