Chapter Ten

As soon as Samantha returned to the states, she visited Jordan who, slurring her words, told Sam that she missed her. Jordan said she’d been eating. Sam brought her Chinese takeout. Jordan missed her mother. So did Sam.

Blake had to go to New York and wanted Sam to go with him. As exciting as life with Blake was, she knew that it would end. She knew that it was emotionally risky to get too accustomed to it. She told Blake that she needed to spend more time with Jordan. He offered to have her moved to the mansion. He’d hire full-time help to look after her. It would be hard on Jordan to be here for a while and then have to return to a rehab facility. Sam had to look out for her long-term interests...
