Summary

The next chapter is titled “Rogue FBI Field Facility.” The subtitle reads: “Office Building at Wilshire and Mariposa; 3/22/54.” Freddy and Harry break into the FBI field office. Freddy finds a list of informants and guesses the identities of several. One has the code name "Redbird." The FBI has handed out 14,000 dollars, and payments stopped the previous month. Freddy feels sure this is Joan, meaning she was an “FBI snitch.” Freddy returns to Connie's house. When she leaves, he goes inside and finds she has left things out for him to find. He falls asleep.
