Prologue though Chapter 3 Summary

The Prologue opens with two people in a forest. A girl has fallen in love with a boy who is actually a faery king. He I bound by magic so that only the right girl can set him free. This girl, who is with him in the forest, is not the right girl. As she grasps the Winter Queen's staff, hoping to break the spell, she feels the icy chill penetrate her being. She will now feel only the Winter Queen's chill until another girl either takes her place or sets the boy free.

In Chapter 1, Aislinn is playing pool with her friend Denny. Both are very good at the game, but Aislinn loses a bit of her touch when the faeries come into the pool hall. She can see them, but does not let on. Her Grams has...
