Summary

The man announced that he was going to turn off the television and turn on a record instead. He said he was going to get rid of the record-player, too. The boy and the girl could have it for cheap if they made an offer. He poured himself "more whiskey and opened a beer" (8). He told the couple everything had to go. The girl wanted more whiskey. She thanked the man, and called him "very nice" when he refilled her glass (8). The boy shook his glass, and said the whiskey was going to his head. After finishing his drink and refilling his glass, the man found the box of records. He told the girl to pick one. While the boy wrote the check, the girl chose a record. She did not recognize the music, and chose something random. She returned to the table...
