Summary
In "Don't Watch Face," first person narrator Gabriel, and his friends Gotti and Tyrell, rob a woman. As they drive away, Gabriel digs through her purse, finding her "black American Express card,” which he thinks "indicates another level of wealth" (7). He keeps it as a souvenir, telling his friends he threw it away. Gabriel notices the rest of the world continuing around them. Afterwards, Gabriel feels exhilarated, ready for the next day at university.
In "South Kilburn," Gabriel hears that one local gang member killed another. Though there were witnesses, no one admits to having information about the murder.
