Summary
Onyesonwu and her friends survived the sandstorm, which lasted significantly longer than most sandstorms Onyesonwu or Mwita had ever experienced before. When the group stepped out from their cover, they realized that they were inside the eye of the sandstorm. A group of people clothed in red emerged from the sandstorm. Mwita recognized the people as the Red People. The Red People approached the travelers, calling themselves the Vah. The Vah are a traveling nomadic people. They told the group of travelers that they planned to stay for three weeks, until the next full moon. They invited Onyesonwu and her friends to their feast that evening.
