Summary
Seth and Carter return to New York City, and Carter asks Seth for the audio he has recorded on his walks around the city. Later, Carter shows Seth a recording in which he has overlaid the chess player’s song with guitar chords played by a street performer. Musically, the guitar and vocals align perfectly. At Carter’s request, Seth makes the recording sound like it is from a very old record. Carter then anonymously uploads the file to the internet, labeling it Graveyard Blues by Charlie Shaw; he comes up with the fake artist name at random. Music aficionados on the internet comment that the song must be a newly unearthed classic, and Carter feels like he and Seth have mastered the musical form.
