Summary

Harvey went down to the screening room before his doctor's appointment. He took "a jumbo box of Junior Mints" and started watching television (11). He marveled at how much trash was made "these days. The amount of money, almost perverse" (12)! He saw this as a sign that his Don DeLillo movie would work out. He studied one of the Junior Mints, and thought of it as a "form of meditation" (12). The moment reminded him of a trip to Kashmir. He was supposed to visit a guru who would tell him the mantra for his life. The whole trip was miserable, and when the guru told Harvey his mantra, he could not hear him. The man refused to "repeat the mantra," which infuriated Harvey (12).

"On the flight back," Harvey made uncomfortable conversation with his assistant (13). He liked to see how nervous and helpless she looked...
