Book 1: Chapter 7 - Chapter 9 Summary

Babette goes to the Congregational church to teach correct posture. Jack refers to this as the end of skepticism. They walk home together, seeing Denise doing her homework and watching Wilder. The entire home is in general, happy disarray. Jack and Babette then discuss what erotic texts to read to turn them onto each other. Jack puts on a robe and goes to ask Heinrich for some texts, but instead finds family photos and he and Babette spend hours looking over those together instead.
