Summary

In “Chapter 19,” Ivy’s mother called her and told her than Meifeng was in the hospital. Ivy and Gideon drove all night to get to the hospital. Ivy learned that Meifeng had broken her hip, but she would be all right. Gideon had to leave because he was going to Costa Rica for a business trips that would last two weeks. Ivy realized this was her last chance to tell him before Roux did, but she did not. After he left, her mother took her aside and asked her what was wrong with her.
