Summary

Andy Sims, a struggling PhD student living in Philadelphia, finds it difficult to complete his dissertation due to distractions from his roommate Lester and Lester's girlfriend Bronwen, who frequently engage in sexual activities. One day in June, Andy receives a text from his old friend Hannah, who asks him to house-sit in rural Vermont for three weeks while she tends to her sister in California, who recently suffered a back injury.
