Summary
In Chapter 10, Sadie writes a letter to a local advice expert explaining how she is in love with another woman, and how she cannot share anything with her husband. Sadie is disgusted when a letter is returned with harsh, unsympathetic advice. Sadie later thinks back to meeting Kristin and agreeing that their encounter at the poetry reading meant nothing. However, after Ralph's party, she wallows in her sorrows by climbing into a cabinet and crying. Kristin finds her there and climbs in. Sadie tries to kiss her, but Kristin pulls away. Ralph finds the two of them stuck in the cabinet. Everyone leaves in anger, Sadie because of the rejection, Kristin for being blamed by Ralph, and Ralph for finding his wife in a cabinet kissing another woman.
