Chapter Three and Chapter Four Summary
Mom and Sarah discuss Margaret Taylor, who Mom met at the grocery store. Margaret seemed embarrassed and got flustered when Mom invited her over for a cup of coffee sometime. Sarah tells Mom there is something wrong with the house and admits that Dee Dee has acted strangely as well. When Sarah presses the subject Mom gets defensive, immediately blaming Sarah's imagination even though she was the one to bring up the neighbor's behavior. Sarah decides she must find out about the house, even if Mom doesn't want to. They continue working on the house. Mom goes upstairs to clean bathrooms and Sarah is given the task of cleaning the live-in maid's room. When she enters the maid's room Sarah feels the prescence again and someone whispers "Ayudame."
