Chapter 8 Summary
In Chapter 8, Ruth Lambston has decided to confront Ethel. Douglas Brown is the one who opens the door when Ruth rings the bell incessantly. She sees the envelope sitting on a stack of mail and takes it. Outside the apartment, Georgette Wells asks Ruth for information about Ethel. Georgette tells Ruth that she thinks something has happened to Ethel and that Seamus has something to do with it.
On Friday evening, Kitty Conway heads to Morrison State Park. She tries to retrace her steps and is about to give up when she sits down on a large rock to rest. When she wraps her hand around the rock to get up, she feels fingers and looks down to see the hand from her memory, framed with a blue cuff.
Before he is due to be at work, Denny stakes out outside Neeve's apartment...
