Chapter 7 Summary

In Chapter 7, Tse-Tse and Neeve find no trace of Ethel when they check her apartment Wednesday. They look at her calendar and can tell that she had planned a trip but wasn't planning on leaving on Friday. On the day of the Christmas party at Myles' apartment, Ethel has attempted to copy one of Renata's sketches from her cookbook. The names of Toni Mendell and Jack Campbell jump out at Neeve as having special importance to Ethel.

Meanwhile, Myles talks to his psychiatrist about the recent changes in his life. On the way back home, he thinks about taking a job with the drug enforcement agency. He also walks to the place where Renata was murdered. For the first time, Myles feels a bit of healing at this site as he tells Renata that Neeve is safe. Myles has decided he is ready...
