Summary
On page 33, Abby recalls how nervous she became on the flight to Ireland when the airplane encountered some wind turbulence. Mrs. Mallon says that she wants to walk across the precarious-looking rope bridge she saw in the guidebook, but Abby does not like this idea. For the next two days, they drive northeast. At night, they stay in a quaint bed-and-breakfast. When their hosts mention the civil unrest, Abby and her mother try to say as little as possible so as not to accidentally cause offense. As they drive on, they eventually arrive at the rope bridge that Mrs. Mallon had seen in the car. Abby waits in the car while her mother goes to see it and walk across it.
