Love
Love is a major theme in the novel "Wherever Nina Lies" by Lynne Weingarten. It prevails in every single part of the book, in every place, and in every event. Love appears in two forms: real love and destructive love.
Real love exists between Ellie Wrigley and her sister, Nina, securing the bond of friendship and family between them. It is Nina's love for her sister, and for her mother, that compel her to abandon her former life in order to protect them from the violent and obsessed Sean. It is also Ellie's love for her sister Nina that compels her to seek Nina out, traveling thousands of miles to find her. It is also Ellie's love of Nina that compels her to essentially risk her own life by tackling Sean, to prevent him from killing Nina. Nina's love for Jason, likewise, sets the entire story into motion...
