Part 2: Chapters 6-7 Summary
Practically, the whole town of Holt shows up at the diner that Thursday after Jack brought his bride home. Everyone wanted to see Jessie, to check out the kind of woman Jack would marry. Jessie is nothing like they thought she might be. Jessie is a quiet, unobtrusive woman who seems the complete opposite of what the people of Holt thought Jack might marry.
