Summary
In Chapter 15, Gabe and Ursa both join Jo for a day of work. They take a long lunch break at a watering hole. As Gabe and Ursa swim, Jo decides to join them, taking off her shirt and revealing her scars where her breasts used to be, a sign of her growing trust in Gabe. A thunderstorm suddenly starts, and the trio run back to Jo’s car. Ursa runs into a low-hanging branch, and is knocked out cold. Ursa wakes up and, while Jo and Gabe are ready to go to the hospital, she strongly protests against it, believing that this will lead to her separation from Jo and Gabe.
Chapter 16 resumes later that evening: after Ursa goes to bed, Jo and Gabe begin to discuss their surprisingly similar family backgrounds: both of their fathers have passed away, and were professors at...
