Summary
Chapter 17. When Sequoyah and George return to the house, Agnes calms George while Sequoyah says he is going to the attic, but in fact breaks into Rosemary’s room. He takes a pair of her panty-hose, then takes off his clothes and stands in his closet, watching himself in the mirror and imagining putting on Rosemary’s clothes, or slashing them, or collapsing. After a few minutes, he puts on his own clothes and goes back downstairs.
That night, after George tells him that Rosemary has disappeared like this before, Sequoyah dreams of his mother, the two of them working in a kitchen invaded by birds. The next day, Sequoyah and Agnes search for Rosemary, starting with her friends. Nora seems to have gone missing, while Farah does not know anything, but suggests they try to find someone neither of them have...
