Summary
Chapter 50 takes place in 1970. The prosecution calls Patti Love to the stand. She gives testimony about the shell necklace that Chase always wore, which was a gift from Kya and which was not found on his body. The prosecution presents a painting that Kya made and gave to Chase. The painting depicts Kya and Chase in the fire tower together. In Chapter 51, the prosecution calls a fisherman to the stand. The fisherman testifies that he saw Kya on her boat heading towards the fire tower on the night of Chase’s death. However, during cross-examination, the fisherman says that he cannot state with full certainty that it was definitely Kya that he saw.
