Summary
In Chapter 36, school is dismissed for the final month. There is no graduation ceremony. This was not as large as the Mass Dragoning, but nearly 30,000 girls across the country dragoned that day. Some flew away, but some tried to resume their lives. Many families refuse to accept their dragon daughters. Anti-dragon groups form, joining forces with the National Guard to keep the dragons out of schools. Signs are posted declaring “HUMANS ONLY.” Librarians tend to be sympathetic, meaning dragon study groups form to continue their education. Because so many of these dragons are minors, no one seems to know what to do. The older dragons continue to return. Mrs. Gyzinska sets up outdoor welcoming areas where support services can be coordinated. Several grants provide housing for dragons in abandoned warehouses.
