Summary

In Chapter 28, there is a party at the community center celebrating the fact that Marxy has acquired a paying job. Zelda attends and congratulates Marxy. Zelda is still sad bout no longer being Marxy’s girlfriend, but Zelda does her best to be friendly towards everyone there. In Chapter 29, Zelda goes to her next shift at the library. She is surprised and uncomfortable to see Toucan there. Toucan quietly threatens her and tells her that she should tell him where Hendo is. After Toucan leaves, Zelda begins to formulate a plan that she believes “will help me become a hero again” (268). In Chapter 30, Zelda uses the library database to find Hendo’s address.
