Summary

In Chapter 10, Zelda is angry at Gert due to Gert’s various actions during the day. Gert goes into his room, and Zelda eventually goes in to check on him. She is surprised to find him crying heavily. Gert sees her and yells at her to leave the room. The next day, Zelda and Gert apologize to each other. Gert explains that he originally knows Toucan from high school. Gert says that he recently accepted a loan from Toucan so that Gert and Zelda could move out of Uncle Richard’s home. Gert says that he is working for Toucan to pay off the debt.
