Summary

Miel rebelliously cuts away the latest rose to grow on her wrist, without giving it to the Bonner sisters. She then goes to the Bonner farm to show them what she has done. She runs into Ivy and, after they briefly argue, Ivy reaches over and rips out much of the underlying stem structure from within Miel’s wrist, which immediately causes severe bleeding. Miel reaches out for one of the glass pumpkin stems in the fields and throws it on the ground between her and Ivy, who is bare-foot. Miel then runs away.

As Sam is at his house, at the start of the chapter "Sea of Showers," planning to go hang up more moons, Aracely comes over and asks where Miel is. They both suddenly look at Aracely’s wrist and discover that she is suddenly bleeding from her own wrist...
