Part 2, Witwatersrand, Chapters 25-27 Summary
By the end of January, Xanadu is finally finished and the wedding is set. Candy goes through the gifts in the ballroom, and sorts them while Sean and Duff go outside. Duff asks Sean if he has the mock priest organized. Though Duff has second thoughts about faking, it is a bit late to change things. Duff's bachelor party is on the nineteenth and Francois shows up with a ball and chain, and locks it on his leg with formality before the party begins. At midnight, Duff convinces Francois to remove the ball and chain, and quietly slips out.
When a waiter wakes Sean the next morning with a coffee tray and a note, Sean is painfully hungover. He reads the note from Candy reminding him of his duty to have the groom ready at eleven. He...
