Summary
Pages 122 through 145 -- Jacob and his family go to the Beiler's for worship, but in the middle of Isaak Stofultz's sermon soldiers arrive. They tell everyone present to leave, beacuse a strong hurricane is about to hit. Everyone leaves early, and Jacob and his family hunker down in their home to wait out the storm. Their house sustains minimal damage, with just some flooding in the root cellar. Jon Michaelson comes by with news the next day, and says that Deacon Sorenson will need Jacob's help repairing his damaged roof. There are also rumors of worse flooding in the towns, especially in Philadelphia. Jacob examines his pistol that night, and ponders why the English kill other people.
The next day, Jacob goes to fix Deacon Sorenson's roof. Jon arrives as well, and says that Lancaster has experienced bad flooding, which has ruined basements, furniture...
