Dimple Shah
Dimple Shah is one of the two main characters of the book, and one of the two main perspectives. More than half of the book is told from her third person perspective, and the book begins and ends with her perspective. Dimple is the lover of Rishi, the roommate of Celia, and the daughter of Veejay and Leena Shah, or Mamma and Papa. As the title of the book is When Dimple Met Rishi, the book is framed to primarily tell her story with Dimple as the main protagonist, but includes her romance with Rishi to show who Dimple is.
Dimple physically, as Rishi describes her, is “pretty, with wild black hair and huge brown eyes she hid behind square frame glasses” (15).
