Honeymoon Suite

The honeymoon suite is a symbol of regret. On the day of Kevin and Rosaleen’s wedding, Maurice promised Sadie they would stay in the honeymoon suite. He never followed through with this promise. On the second anniversary of Sadie’s death, Maurice arranges to stay in the honeymoon suite in honor of Sadie. He dances around the room, like he danced Sadie around the room on the day of Kevin and Rosaleen’s wedding. Maurice takes an overdose of pills this same night, hoping that he can join Sadie.

Tony’s Shoes

Tony’s shoes are a symbol of admiration. Maurice says that when he goes to school for the first time he is literally walking in Tony’s shoes. He is wearing Tony’s hand me downs. Maurice does not seem to mind wearing second-hand shoes because he admires his brother so much...
