Chapters 27 and 28 Summary

In Chapter 27, Gilbert gets up early and takes extra care in getting ready to go to breakfast at Becky's house. When Becky's grandma answers the door, Gilbert sits on a comfortable couch taking in his surroundings. Gilbert is about to take his first bite when Becky comes into the kitchen for breakfast, looking like she just woke up. She laughs when she sees how Gilbert looks, she drinks some coffee and then goes outside to smoke. While Beck is outside, her grandma tells Gilbert that Becky's parents are getting a divorce and that Becky is only fifteen. They talk about their age difference and Becky tells Gilbert that Tucker asked her out.
