Chapters 11 and 12 Summary
In Chapter 11, Gilbert is watching Arnie ride the white horse on the merry-go-round for the twenty-second consecutive time. When the guy controlling the ride tells Gilbert Arnie has to give others a chance to ride the white horse, Gilbert lies to the carnie, telling him Arnie was kicked in the head repeatedly by a white horse last year and now Arnie is triumphing over his fears. The carnie believes him and says Arnie can ride always ride the white horse for free. Tucker tells Gilbert he got picked to be in the dunk tank. When Gilbert tries to get Arnie off the merry-go-round, Arnie refuses and the carnie says he'll watch Arnie for Gilbert. As Gilbert walks to the ferris wheel, he runs into Melanie, who scolds him for missing his appointment with the insurance agent and has Gilbert reschedule it...
