Summary
In Chapter 20, Sierra tries to talk to her father again. She tells him that she senses he is using Caleb’s past as a way to discourage the relationship. While she knows that he is trying to save her from having her heart broken, Sierra argues it should be her decision if she wants to continue the relationship or not. It is at this point that her father chooses to tell her that they are almost certain they will not be returning to run the tree lot the following year. Sierra hugs her father and sympathizes.
