Chapters 6 and 7 Summary

In Chapter 6, Evie can hear and sees girls arriving for a dance. She goes to her mother's closest and chooses a green dress with violet flowers. She is stuffing a bra with tissue when her mother and Mrs. Grayson walk in on her. They laugh, and at first Evie is hurt. Mrs. Grayson leads the work to fix Evie up. After they are finished, Evie looks in the mirror hoping to see a version of her mother but she does not. Mrs. Grayson tells her that she is beautiful.
