Maui, Hawaii
Maui, Hawaii is where Oprah has a second home. It is where several important events in the book take place, including Oprah's birthday celebrations with friends as well as the hike she takes with Bob Greene which prompts them both to experience great awe in nature. At her house in Maui, Oprah also has what she calls "a genuine farm" which represents her love of gardening, an activity which brings everyday joy and which also feeds holistic healthy eating habits as well as gratitude for fresh produce. Maui is where Oprah finds stillness and connection with the universe. It is also symbolic of her success in life and the realization of her goals and dreams.
