Ruthy Ramirez
Ruthy Ramirez is the second Ramirez daughter who disappeared when she was thirteen years old. In her first-person narrative passages, Ruthy tells the reader about her last day at school, before she was abducted. While she and Yesenia were once best friends, Yesenia had begun spending time with Angela Cruz, and whispering about Ruthy behind her back. At lunch, Ruthy, felt someone touch her head and when she reached up felt the wad of gum that Angela had pressed into her curls.
