Anna Hunt
Anna Hunt is the protagonist of the novel. The main narrative points of the novel are written from her first person point of view. Throughout the novel, she grows from a girl who is insecure about who she is to one who is willing to speak up when she sees something wrong. Her main role models are her older sister, her mother, and her Babcia. Through these relationships, she learns how women fight for their rights and for those around them.
Anna has recently moved to Madison when the novel begins, and her mother pressures her to make friends. Maja tells Anna to be herself, but Anna thinks she is too intense of a person and does not fit in well. Therefore, being herself will not help her make friends. She notices early on that people ostracize Rachel Riley, and she sets out to figure out why...
