Nina

Nina is a sixteen-year-old girl with an interest in writing. She is deeply devoted to her first boyfriend, Seth, and accepts the conditions of their relationship without much question. She is guilty of neglecting her female friendships in favour of her boyfriend and of bullying Seth's previous girlfriend. She is aware of her faults and knows when she has wronged someone. Nina also knows she should be less dependent on her boyfriend, but her love for him overrides everything else. Nina is not afraid of exploring her sexuality both alone and with Seth.

Nina uses writing and magic realism to explore themes and subjects which occupy her mind. Like many teenage girls, she is questioning and exploring ideas of beauty, sexuality, death, and feminism.
