Importance: Here, Isaac relays a moment during Daniel's memorial service in which he sees Daniel himself. She glances towards Katherine, and they share a moment. He thinks about their severed connection and alludes toward how intertwined seemingly polar emotions can be. This quote reflects the larger paradoxical theme regarding life as a series of opposing forces that feed into one another. With love comes loss, and many aspects of life, such as spirituality are present yet unseen. When Isaac's yes connect with Katherine's, she withdraws her hand from the man she presumably left Isaac for.
