Chapter 6 Summary

Zoe takes Abby to Camden Town, where she criticizes Abby for being parsimonious. She gets Abby to try on thigh-high zebra-striped boots, and when Abby sees herself in them, she realizes that she is "kind of...sexy." (p. 72). Ian sees Abby in the boots—he has come to Camden Town to shop for a new remix—and Before he leaves to find his friends, he invites Zoe and Abby to come to the flat, and he compliments Abby on her boots. Instead of the boots, though, Abby ends up buying lip gloss.

That night, Abby puts her hair in pig tails (as she had worn it when she met James) and when she sees Ian, he looks "primped—Had he primped for her?" (p. 77). Ian comes over and he and Abby start to get to know each other. Abby has...
