Summary
In “Come With,” Jack lives alone in Chicago, and he watches out his window at a woman, Elizabeth, who lives across the way. He notices that her apartment is decorated with postcards from many places she has visited. She reads a lot, and he believes she is too worldly to be attracted to him. He does not know this, but when her apartment is dark, she sits in the dark and watches him. He is skinny, and she likes his tattoos because she believes they mean he is assertive, unlike herself who cannot decide who she is. She believes that he, an artist, is passionate and defiant and is the exact type of person she came to Chicago to find.
