Summary

In Chapter 47, the boys came back to the house drunk. Jeremiah passed out and Belly went to look for Conrad, who was on the beach. He told her that Jeremiah had cheated on her. She said she already knew and did not care. They got into a fight about it. Belly tried to walk away. He chased after her and told her that he still loved her. She told him he was only saying that because of the wedding. He explained that he had not been able to love anyone after his mother’s death and he thought he would hurt Belly, so he pushed her away, but he had always loved her and always would. She yelled at him and told him that he had never meant anything to her.
