Summary
Part III begins with Chapter 39. Ahmed left the apartment after telling Chike he was going to England. Chike pondered the fact that it was easier for men with money to move freely through the world.
In Chapter 40, while flying to England, Ahmed recalled his free and easy college days there, and in particular a fellow student he remembered fondly, a Kenyan girl named Farida. He bonded with his seatmate on the plane over the ignorant comments of a (well-meaning) white flight attendant.
In Chapter 41, Chike noted that Sandayọ had begun going to the schools with him every day. In the apartment, when he complained about a sore neck, Oma massaged him, then kissed his neck and touched his groin before saying she could go no further. Chike realized she would need to divorce her husband if they were going to be together.
