Summary

In Chapter 8, Theo was hoping for a text from Maddie but instead received one from Ben, asking him to join him for a drink. Theo tried to refuse, but his brother accused him of acting older than he really was.

At Ben’s favorite bar, everyone was looking at Theo who was wearing a button-down shirt as if he was overdressed, making him feel more uncomfortable than he already did. When Ben asked Theo why he was so irritable, Theo told Ben about the pre-k initiative and the increased pressure that came with it. As Theo talked to his brother, he began to feel better. Ben suggested that if Theo had sex he would feel even better. Even though Theo knew he should not say anything, he told Ben that he was having a fling with Maddie.
