Summary

In Chapter 35, Emily read that one of the tourists who had been in the bar with her, Kristen, and Paolo had come forward about seeing Paolo on the night of his murder. Emily panicked and sent Kristen a message in code. She wanted to relax and enjoy her time with Aaron, but she could not.

In Chapter 36, Emily and Aaron arrived in Phoenix. Aaron told Emily that Kristen had called him the day before and told him that she was worried about Emily, who seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown after a violent encounter in Chile. Emily, infuriated, told Aaron that Kristen was lying because she was jealous of their relationship.
