Summary

In Chapter 16, Emily went bowling with Aaron and then they slept together for the first time. Right after, Emily got a text from Kristen that said “I need you.”

In Chapter 17, Emily told Aaron she had to leave and rushed to her car, but then she called Kristen and Kristen simply said she had been in a fight with her grandfather and wanted to vent on the phone. Emily went home alone and went to work the next day exhausted. She talked to her friend Priya about their families and realized it felt nice to talk to someone besides Kristen. Emily went back to therapy and discussed her childhood with Adrienne, who sympathized with her for having to deal with emotionally abusive parents.
