Summary
Chapter Twenty-Four, “Andrew Oh” - In first-person, present-tense narration, Andrew talks with a hung-over Marissa and a suddenly hungry Ariane over breakfast prepared by Minnie. In narration, Andrew reflects on how the situation seems stereotypical (black female servant serving wealthy white people) and, when Minnie has extra jam on her muffin, on scientific studies that correlate black people, poor diet, and obesity. He also teases Marissa about her hangover, worries about how thin she seems, and resolves to ask her how she really got those bruises. When she is evasive, he tells her that if she ever gets hit by anyone, she should call him and he will come and beat the guy up.
