Marin attends this unnamed college and lives in a dormitory located on said campus.. Its exact location is also never defined. It can be known though that this college campus is not in Manhattan because Hannah invites Marin to take a train to visit New York City over the break. Instead, said campus seems pretty remote. Marin and Mabel must take a bus to get to the town's commercial district, which would not be needed in the walkable city area of Manhattan.

Potter's Studio, New York State

Claudia, the potter, owns a studio and store nearby Marin's New York campus. Marin loves the potter's merchandise, and she takes Mabel here to shop during her visit. During said trip to the studio/store, Marin asks the potter for a job and is eventually offered such a position.
