Attitudes and actions of different groups sometimes clash, spawning intolerance. The characters of this novel are divided into several groups, many showing a complete lack of tolerance toward each other. While many of these are related to supernatural affiliations and actions, there are also a few examples of people who demonstrate a lack of tolerance based only on personal attitudes.The vampires and magicians are two of the main groups in this novel that demonstrate a lack of tolerance.
